Our story

Born on Walthamstow Market.

Rice 'n' Spice is a family kitchen. Mohammed Shazad Khan and his son Subhan started it as a stall on Walthamstow Market.

Today we grill at Kiosk 5, upstairs at CRATE Food Hall, 17&Central. The recipes have not changed. We marinate overnight. We grill fresh, to order. We serve generous portions at honest prices.

We are a Muslim-managed kitchen. Everything we serve is halal.

  1. Pilau rice

    Light and fragrant. Made fresh every day.

  2. Chicken tikka

    Marinated overnight. Grilled to order.

  3. Seekh kebab

    Spiced minced lamb or chicken, straight off the skewer.

  4. Chickpea curry

    Warm and mild. Ask for it at the kiosk.

  5. Fresh salad

    Crisp and cold. Cut daily.

  6. House sauces

    Mint, chilli and garlic. Made in-house.
